Need to plant a Japanese Persimmon - which one?
I have "one" open space in the orchard.
I have ~ everything, except a persimmon. Can I plant just "one" Japanese Persimmon & get fruit - or do I have to plant two to get fruit? Which persimmon does best in the Austin area - soil is black loamy? Thanks, Gene in the metropolis of Briggs, TX -- E-mail: |

Need to plant a Japanese Persimmon - which one?
I have a Fuyu and it has dropped fruit a lot later on in the season in
past years. Then I read that persimmons drop fruit from lack of water. So now, once it has some fruit, I know to keep it watered nicely. Fuyu is the less astringent variety and will not make you "pucker" even if you pick it a bit before it is ripe. Gene S wrote: THANKS, B. Fuyu is the one that I was going to go with, but just wondering if someone had a better one. Thanks, Gene -- E-mail: B.Server wrote in message ... Since that is the only one I planted, I can't help you with comparisons. The fruit is very good, once fully ripe. |
