Is Privet deer resistant?

We are considering planting privet. Experience elsewhere has shown it
to be a fast growing, hardy, and nearly indestructable evergreen
shrub. Does anyone know if it happens to be deer resistant as well?
We are in need of an evergreen "privacy screen" and any other
suggestions would be appreciated.
