I'm sure all of us will be pleased to hear that Karen is making a slow
but determined recovery from the truly terrible car accident in which
she was involved. In the few emails I've exchanged with her it's been
very clear that she was lucky to escape with her life.
She has undergone a lot of surgery, has had to use a wheelchair at
times, has more surgery facing her but as all who have met her would
expect, is fighting back womanfully! Here is a little excerpt from
her last email to me and yes, I do have her permission to pass on news
of her to this group and I think her own words are the best way to do
this:

"This weeks improvement involves
permission to stand on the right leg albeit in fancy plastic boot.
This
enables a sort of wobbly walking and of course the boot comes off at
night.
Oh bliss................ This weeks bad news involves small op on
left leg
as the boned isn't knitting. I have an overnight hospital stop
planned in a
fortnight which will probably result in left leg hurting for a week or
so. I
have been told I am to work hard with the newly enabled right leg so
that -
wait for it - I will still have a leg to stand on. boom boom!"

If any urglers feel like contacting her via email, I think she'd be
glad to hear from them and to know that while she may temporarily
'confined to barracks' she's still one of our gardening friends.

Thank you Sacha, I have a feeling she lives within travelling distance of
Norfolk, I will drop her a line.
