Does anyone know where I can get some Salvia Uliginosa Seeds. Neither
Chilterns nor any other major seller seems to do it. I have seen plants for
sale but I would like to grow a quantity in a clump.

Its still in full flower at the moment but it may set some seed by first
frost, I will bear you in mind, but really its so easy from cuttings I do
not think anyone bothers with seed.
Cuttings taken in the spring will flower at the normal time in Summer.

There might be some on mine when it finishes flowering, and I manage to get
round that side of the pond.

Charlie and Bob - many thanks for your comment - I would be very grateful of
any seed if you were to have some. To take cuttings, you need a mother
plant, which is difficult to find up here in Yorkshire as I don't think it
is hardy here. But I would still like to try. I saw this and some other
beautiful plants ( especially tender salvias) at Colaton Fishacre in South
Devon this summer. There are lots of plants I would like to try - are
there specialist nurseries or seed suppliers for things like this that are a
bit out of the ordinary.

I had a few minutes in front of me and I found another forum
specialising in salvia. It looks like a good place to find your

Some of the things that grow at Coleton Fishacre are somewhat tender and we
couldn't grow them here, only a few miles away. It's on the river so has
some protection, as a result. However, we get S. involucrata and S.
confertiflora through the winter so, if you want to try the various Salvias,
Google Christine Yeo who has the National Collection of Salvias at Ipplepen,
near Newton Abbot.
