I have made a squirrel proof feeder that also deters the bigger birds..I had two metal hanging basket frames of the same size, which I wired together with a plastic feeder hanging inside..The little birds get inside and feed, while the big birds can't, so they wait below for the scraps..I don't even have to hang it up, just wedge it in the branches of a tree..
