urgent ...pls help
*********************

My sister had a tree in her front yard in the center of the lawn...the
tree sprouted roots and tiny trees appeared all over the lawn. She
has had the tree cut but these little trees keep coming up all the time
all over the lawn...she mows the lawn and they get cut ...but reappear.

How can she kill these ...that are sprouting up everywhere ?

My sister does not know what sort of tree this is...the home builders
planted it...the house is about 18 years now.

Has anyone had any experience with this sort of situation ?

Pls help

Thanks
Kim

When you use the term 'front yard' it sounds as though you are posting from
the US of A, this group is a uk group!

It might be better to look for an american group who might have more
experience of the type of tree you are having trouble with.

This is very usual with Poplars. More so than any others IME. The
only solution is to wipe each of the growths with a Roundup solution. It is
quite likely that they have formed individual plants and are no longer
connected to the original. I have the same problem with grafted poplars
and cannot treat them as they are part of the desired trees. P.lasiocarpa
~never available on its own roots.
If just cut off each week they seem to form solid lumps just above soil
level that upset the mower.
Best Wishes Brian.
