Clematis chiisanensis
I bought one some weeks back, and think I have lost it to wilt. Normally, species are resistant, but new plants are always a bit prone to it. Does anyone know if this species is especially sensitive to it? Regards, Nick Maclaren. |

Does anyone know if this species is especially sensitive to it? Regards, Nick Maclaren. My experience was somewhat short lived!, I grew 10 from seed and all died mysterious deaths although some did flower first but I gave the seed away as I can take a hint! I blamed cold (I think it may be tender) and wet around the crown of the plant, but even the two in the poly tunnel went so it may have been wilt, fungus is bound to be around with so many clematis about, but I seldom see evidence of it. It may be worth trying again as I know others who say they grow it easily. -- Charlie, gardening in Cornwall. http://www.roselandhouse.co.uk Holders of National Plant Collections of Clematis viticella (cvs) and Lapageria rosea |
