The Tottering By Gently cartoon in this week's Country Life made me smile.
Lady Tottering is holding up a bizarrely misshapen carrot and is saying to
her husband "Of course it's not like the one on the seed packet. That was
posed by a professional carrot". ;-))

Ah, nothing in nature is like the photographs. I have an excellent book
on pruning, complete with drawings and photos, fine except my trees and
shrubs never grow like that. :-(

Ah, nothing in nature is like the photographs. I have an excellent book
on pruning, complete with drawings and photos, fine except my trees and
shrubs never grow like that. :-(

No nice open branches with little lines on them saying "cut here'? ;-))
