Default Scarlet Runners cont'd......

Thanks all who replied re. lack of beans this year. Certainly a lot to
think about for next year. Not lack of water -- had plenty. Could be lack
of bees, as I must admit to not seeing even one bee on them. (Just a
thought, do wasps pollinate, and if not why not?). But the catmint I planted
nearby (not catnip: cousins, but different) had lots of bees. I wonder did
the catmint overload the bees, so the scarlet runner blossoms weren't as
tasty? Could have been fertiliser, but the plants were so healthy with tons
of blossoms. What numbers re. fert. should I have been using for the beans
(for next year?) Gardening can be so tricky!
P.s. the two legs would have had to fly over man's best friend, so don't
think it could have been that, either....Pinetree. o
