They looked good here a couple of weeks ago but the birds are having a
good go at them and they are going fast.
Strange how some trees have gone intoan early leaf drop here, silver
birches almost bare, as are Mountain ash, pussy willow, bird cherry is
losing a fair few leaves and liquid amber is in great colour and has
been since the start of the month.

We see the same here, David. There's a great contrast in the colour
patterns. Some are still fully green without a sign of the colour
turning, while others are totally autumnal. There's a tremendous
variation.

It's been the same around here, everywhere we've been in the mountains
they're truly spectacular. It's been a few years since we've seen them
like this.
Went to Morrey's nursery a couple of days ago and the autumn colour on
the roadsides en route and in the nursery was already very good.
