Default Hello from a dreary Derbyshire

Hello everyone,

I subscribed to this group many years ago, in the days of hair. I think the trolls, as that is what I believe they were called, started to spoil things for me so I left. Looks different now but hopefully just as good as it used to be. Back then I pretentiously called myself a plantsman and was into alpines and fiddling around with trying to keep things alive in pots that should really have been growing somewhere above the snowline on some mountain. Today, and a house move to a cottage, gardening for me is so very different. No longer hung up on latin and locations and the species only snobbery that can be found within the world of alpine growers, I now have a very relaxed, informal, "cottage garden" approach than the "Botanical Garden" mentality of before. I enjoy growing from seed and have just purchased some Lottery Mixtures from Chiltern Seeds. Should be great fun in putting names to faces and will more than likely be asking for help here.

Yes, I remember you! Welcome back!

It's the same newsgroup, but it's looking different to you because you are viewing it through a web portal, instead of directly as a news group.

You'll find that a lot of the old posters have moved on to other things, but there's quite a few of the old posters around still.
