Default Repotting grapevine

Have just brought a small (one foot high) grapevine in a pot. The pot just
seems way too small. Is there any reason not to re-pot it straight away at
this time of year?

In pots, I normally use three quarters john innes no 3 and a quarter of so
called general purpose compost.

Would you say this is a reasonably good combination to use for a grapevine?
Thanks.
