Default Orchids

I have written here before about my orchid (cymbidium) which has not
reflowered for about 20 years. 2 years ago it had got so big that I
cut it up into 4 and gave 3 away. Those 3 are all flowering for
different friends, but mine has no sign of a flower stem. We all did
the same thing, put them outside last summer, bringing them in at the
end of summer. The only thing different is that I put the pieces I
gave away into quite small pots and put my piece back into the pot it
had been in. Seems they need to be pot-bound, so I need to cram mine
into a smaller pot and hope for flowers next year. One of the pieces
even has 2 flower stems. I'm envious!
Mine doesn't make the pseudobulbs that the guy showed Monty at Wisley
(nice programme) but is certainly some sort of cymbidium.
