I've often seen some of the new allotment gardeners planting stuff a month or more early and wondered if they have checked the date on the front of the magazine. -- Regards. Bob Hobden. Why do they do this?? Several thoughts come to mind. Magazines of all sorts have always been pre-dated; it seems to be standard practice in that business. Were the actual recommendations appropriate for May or June? If the former, then the date on the cover doesn't really matter. Bear in mind also that what may be appropriate for June in the north of England or Scotland is probably appropriate for May in the south-west. Surely that is good, as it gives you a chance to plan ahead. |
