Default We have asparagus up! Here in west Cornwall.

We planted a dozen crowns of asparagus spring last year, having obsessively cleaned the ground. Got the ferns, then they blew away over the winter. Heaped on compost.

Then this morning, after two fine days, a spear has popped up! Coming up fast too - probably 10 mm in the day. Not supposed to eat it until it's three. Can we wait?
