Default Weed/Plant killer

I have an area where I have grown raspberries for years.
I am going to remove the old plants and plant some new ones.
There are many weeds/Welsh Poppies around the roots which have been there for
years.
I want to clear the area totally before planting new rasps.
Any recommendations please on how to clear the ground of everything living?

What ever you do you will always have the Welsh Poppies coming up from seed
and the weeds too. Clear the ground as best you can, improve the soil etc,
plant the new fruit and use a good membrane to cover the bare earth. You
might like to consider a root barrier around the Raspberries to stop them
taking over.
