just below the lawn turf, rather than burrowing unseen and only
popping-up from time to time. The result is many "tracks" of disturbed turf.
What's the best way to tackle them, or is it better to pay a mole catcher?

only thing that worked was cats, and they did far more damage to the carpets

We've got 2 cats, but they're more interested in keeping the beds warm.

In addition to mole problems we've also get rats and rabbits to deal
with, but the rats and rabbits haven't got so active yet.

Have your moles got fins? Our soil is waterlogged, and we haven't seen
anything of the annoying little devils for months. They'll be back...

It's a long time since this thread surfaced
Anything smelly down any visible hills and they can't find their way
back (I'm told)
Last Xmas unwanted aftershave, diesel, Jeyes's Fluid etc all worked for
me. They all went next door.

My trapping has become more successful so, unless we've had some
incomers, there are now 3 less moles in the garden than when I started
this thread and their mortal remains have provided easy pickings for
whatever has scavenged the corpses. Three down and probably 4-5 more to
go in areas that I care about.
I don't like killing anything but ...

Won't you simply get other moles moving in? You need to make the
environment unattractive to moles and that doesn't really mean killing
them and leaving everything else the same. I suspect a 'mole free'
lawn is *very* attractive to moles! :-)
