Default sick runner beans

My runner beans have got to about 6inches high but are starting to look a
bit sorry for themselves. The leaves are shrivelling and getting brown
patches. Can they be helped or should I start again. They are in 2ft. long
tubs as I am growing them on an unused path against a wall so I have been
able to put them in overnight when it has been cold.
