Default what's eating my melons?

Found a small, tan-brown long beetle-type critter eating from a hole in a
melon stem in the greenhouse. Am not sure if it made the whole or just found
it. However, other holes have appeared in the leaves.

It wasn't a vine weevil .. anyone know what it could have been and therefore
is it friendly or foe?
