"........Do you have to give the cost of postage in your catalogue David?
P & P is on my order forms.
Parcel force are much to expensive, used then three times this year but at
£12 a time you need a very large order.
Royal mail now take much heavier parcels first class and are very
competitive.
Have now had a carrier quote me £6.50 up to 10 Kg (+VAT)
Just annoys me that Royal Mail don't start bulk discount for mail till

over
5000 items in a sending.

I think its the predictability thats the problem, if the carriers would only
be upfront about price increases and give reasonable notice. The company
that David's quote has come from, are the same one that I have used
(happily)
for the last two years at the £6.50 price he gives, they then without
prior notice nearly doubled the rate to £11.60 per parcel. because they say
the average number of parcels sent is not high enough, fair enough you may
think but as they will not say what the critical number is, I could smell a
rat!
(I also can't see how in a week in winter when I send no parcels I am
costing
them anything! makes averages a bit pointless) anyway this morning they
conceeded that they were in the wrong and the price has been reajusted to
£6.82, both parties now satisfied - Moan over :~)

It must make running your sort of business profitably very difficult.
I do sympathise.
