Default Seed sower (piggyback)

For several years I have used a seed sowing tool in my

wheeled along the drills on the end of a 3ft long stick.

A question: How well do these things work for planting beans? I put a lot
of them in a bed each year as prep for garlic to follow, and because I like
beans. My back isn't getting any younger...

Thanks,

Hi there Gary, and any other interested parties.
I shall be ordering one of the advertised sowers from 'garden
tools direct' in a few days and from the picture of it on their
web-site it appears somewhat different in design from the one I
have been using (although it does the same job) in that it looks
like a top loader and there are what look like peas in the 'hopper'.

Whether beans fit I do not know but if you are prepared to wait
somewhat I will try it out when it gets here with some runner bean
seeds that I have left over and will post results here. Unless
someone beats me to it!

Never had to bend over to plant bean seeds as I always use
individual pots in a g/h for my 60 plant requirements.
At the moment the runner beans are doing well. Had some for dinner
this evening. Very "please can I have some more-ish".
HTH
Regards,
Roy.
