There were practically none here in our part of the world. North Yorks

Very few here in Lincolnshire, and my plum crop has not been touched.

Normally at this time of the year no reminder would be necessary as

This year however, scarcely a wasp have I (or any of the family)

Is it just me?

Interesting point now you mention it. Here in South London I have seen
very few in the gardens,

You're right Paul - hardly any here in Redditch, Worcs either. Usually
we're inundated with them at this time of year. Nature always balances
things up though, so expect a double-dose of them next year!

I've just got back from Sussex and was delighted to see a hornet (we very
rarely see them in Yorkshire). I was told there was a nest in the gardens -
we were at Michelham Priory.

The message

Original item must have dropped into a black hole somewhere - like a few
of my posts today.

I have a length of guttering with a water drip-feed at one end, and
watercress in the trough. Recently, the wopses have been visiting
regularly.

Indeed, three No. 56s came together....

I live about 5 miles from Michelham Priory, like you I have hardly seen a
wasp all year.

Not me - I've seen plenty, everywhere we've been including Michelham.

But we were showing beeswax products and they're attracted to that.

I have seen very few indeed. Cambridge.

We have at least one nest in the roof.
