This year however, scarcely a wasp have I (or any of the family) seen. Is it just me? Interesting point now you mention it. Here in South London I have seen very few in the gardens, I'm also s.London pk Strange eh? maybe they knew the david blaine circus was coming to town and decided to move to yorkshire instead! |

Usually we're inundated with them at this time of year. Nature always balances things up though, so expect a double-dose of them next year! -- Chrissie http://www.thegardener.btinternet.co.uk |

This year however, scarcely a wasp have I (or any of the family) seen. I've just got back from Sussex and was delighted to see a hornet (we very rarely see them in Yorkshire). I was told there was a nest in the gardens - we were at Michelham Priory. Mary |

The message
from "Mary Fisher" contains these words: This year however, scarcely a wasp have I (or any of the family) seen. I've just got back from Sussex and was delighted to see a hornet (we very rarely see them in Yorkshire). I was told there was a nest in the gardens - we were at Michelham Priory. Original item must have dropped into a black hole somewhere - like a few of my posts today. I have a length of guttering with a water drip-feed at one end, and watercress in the trough. Recently, the wopses have been visiting regularly. Indeed, three No. 56s came together.... -- Rusty Hinge No m'lud, it wasn't a sneg. My joints creak. |

But we were showing beeswax products and they're attracted to that. Mary Earnest |
