I know that the regular posters here don't recommend any of the garden
design software but I thought I'd just mention a cheap version. May's
edition of Computer Buyer magazine includes a full version of "Geoff
Hamilton's Garden Designer 1.1". The usual price of the software is
£9.99 but the cost of the magazine is only £3.25.

I have no idea if the software is any good and no affiliation with the
magazine (other than being a subscriber) - I just thought it worth
mentioning here.
