Marvellous - that's about the only criteria I didn't do a search on!

Looks promising, I'll let you know the outcome. Many thanks.

hi, can anyone provide me with the info to get this mower working?
Bought on Ebay, this mower is new 'graded' stock and despite the
seller promising to send me one several times, I don't have a
userguide for it. I can probable muddle my way through most of it, but
what I really need to know is what oil to put in the engine and how
much? I've located the oil filler hole, which has a yellow plastic
screw in plug with two raised lugs (presumably for leverage) with a
picture of an oil can on it, but I don't see any indication as to a
fill-to level. The mower itself is as title, with a Tecumseh (sp?) 4
stroke petrol engine. It appears to be the same or very similar to the
McCulloch 354OPD Self Propelled model at Argos online. There is also a
Flymo information sticker close by on the cowling.

I've spent hours and hours trawling Google and the WWW in general, all
to no avail.

Any and all info greatly appreciated.

Most generic mower engines - oil fill to bottom of filler neck in the
absence of a dipstick (Sometimes a little stubby one attached to the
bottom of the filler plug.)
Quantity - Just fill as above.
Oil - Can't help much on that. Mower dealers sell a single viscosity
SAE 30 oil for mowers but this is used mainly in cylinder mowers -
harder working rotary mower engines might need something different
like a synthetic multigrade.Ask Tecumseh or a proper mower shop.

Wow, I am very impressed by their service! A quick multi-choice option
which takes you straight where you want to go - the user-guide will be
posted to me.

Fingers crossed!

Spoke to someone on the phone who told me which oil to use (any
proprierty SAE 30) though was rather vague about the fill-to level,
but with the info provided by Rod in the other posting I reckon I can
deduce where to fill up to until the userguide arrives.

Thanks to all for your help - much appreciated!
