Default tumble/turny compost 'bin'

I just started off the turny type compost bin we bought over winter. But
already its got all flies round it! Its right next to our other compost bins
(wooden) which I have been very careful to cover food with hay from the
bunnie run and the sawdust cat litter, so I don't think they are giving me
problems. Is this going to be a problem with these turny bins or am I doing
something wrong? We have mostly kitchen waste, grass and some weeds in it.

thanks
amber
