Default Arley Hall

Just got back from my first visit to Arley Hall gardens nr Warrington.
Absolutely bowled over. There've been 4 generations of enthusiastic
owners and a long serving head gardener - Tom Acton who retired a few
years ago after 50 yrs there (30 as head gardener). He and the present
head gardener were both with us today. This continuity has produced
one of the richest most varied gardens I have seen in a long while.
Want a rich mix of choice plants? Good design? Superb maintenance?
Good tearoom?, wonderful old buildings? Super Parkland setting?
Welcoming owners? It's all there.
