Default teak furniture

All,

forgive me if this has been asked but....

I have just bought some teak garden furniture that I would like to oil
(when it arrives), to maintain the brown non silver/gray finish, can
someone adivse on the good/bad stuff and where to get it from.

Plus any other tips.

Cover it when you,re not using it

Put it in the shed/garage for the winter ......if you leave it out even
covered you will get water ingress / black staining no matter how much you
oil it

I second that last comment: it will go blackish over winter even with a
cover if left
outside. I only brought mine back to a natural wood shade by pouring neat
bleach
all over it several times. It's going in the garage this winter.

We use Danish Oil. Not cheap, but available in 5 litre cans from large
building supply merchants - or smaller cans from various diy places.

can't say whether it will help you maintain the colour you want but the teak garden furniture given to us as a wedding present last year came with instructions to oil with teak oil twice a year to protect from elements
