Default Impatiens tinctoria

I have just taken delivery of some impatiens tinctoria which I had wanted to plant under / through a clump of musa basjoo. Someone has suggested that the soil will be too rich (manure, fish, blood, bone etc) and that the impatiens won't therefore flower.

Does anyone have any experience of impatiens that they could offer? I don't want to give up on my scheme just yet.

Many thanks

Paul
