Default App for independent Nurseries

My NiN subscription runs out next month and I shan't be renewing it, so
this is just to let urglers know that the App Bob Hobden posted about
and that I followed up on, will be going 'live' quite soon. I'll let
Bob know about it so that he can post here for anyone interested. The
idea is that it will be free to download and is free to join if you're
an independent nursery. If you have a nursery you'd like included,
please email the nursery at with name and
contact details.

Aside from that, thank you to all those urglers who have become friends
both online, in real life and now on Facebook. I have been very lucky
and made some genuine friendships and met some lovely people as a
result of my 17+ years on urg. I hope friendly urglers coming to Devon
will contact me and let me know if they can find a bit of time to spare
to visit us.

I know but thank you for reminding me. Unfortunately, after many years
in newsgroups I think things really have moved on. I resisted it for a
long time and I have a very soft spot for urg but...to be frank, the
pool from which it is drawn now is extremely small and the dialogue
very reptitive. For all of you who shun e.g. Facebook's many
gardening groups and remain here, I do wish you all well and I thank
you very sincerely for all that I've gained from urg, not least of
which is my husband! The late and very much lamented David Poole was
responsible for me meeting and marrying Ray and that happened through
urg, just after I moved to Devon and David recommended that I visit
this nursery. We miss him very much indeed and have a lot to thank him
for as I thank all urglers for everything I've learned here.

Dave Poole.. "We miss him very much indeed and have a lot to thank him
for"
So true, his plant knowledge was amazing and I always found him helpful,
often wonder what happened to the couple of plants I sent him.

Sorry to see you depart, I myself had my NIN subscription stop recently and
now use eternal-september which is free. Not worth paying for such these
days as Newsgroups seem to have become forgotten, even unknown, as more use
web based mail. I'm not on Fb but Sue is so we will talk by proxy, a bit
like Ray does through yourself sometimes. I do use Twitter to follow
firms/people that interest me inc. Hill House.

ps. builder should be handing back our garden this week for us to finish so
I can get onto taking those cacti cuttings I promised you.

Thank you very much, Bob. You're a very generous gardener, always.
