Terri Barton, the arsonist who started the Hayman fire in Colorado last
year, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for her crime. She still
faces state charges, where she could be sentenced to up to 12 years.

In California, Peri van Brunt, who started the McNally fire that burned
150,000 acres in Tulare County, the Sequoia National Monument and the
Sequoia National Forest, has not been prosecuted. Van Brunt, who has
served three years in prison for methamphetamine dealing and who was
stalking her estranged husband when she started the fire, originally
faced felony charges, which were dropped.
