Wisteria

Hi All
I was in the garden centre and have bought a realy small wisteria , 3 inch pot and only 6 inches high and the stem is a wide as a pencil I have potted in into a round bonsai pot about 8 inches across, soil mix John Innes 3 and xtra grit mixed, layer of grit on the top, in no side shoots yet only cost £1.00 (bargain)
What should I do next
