You did not say in what zone/city you live in. Are you training this
Ficus indoors or out? What kind of Ficus do you have?

Ficus, in genera, l like to have their soil almost dry before
watering.... I will be glad to send you short paragraphs on watering and
the use of the Persian Pick to help in learning how to water.
