Default [IBC] Root cutts budding

I cut a root from a maple it is about 1 finger thick and has
all
her small roots untouched ( plenty of ) .
I covered the cut with wax to avoid disidratation and put in

a mix od
akadama an pozzolane ( as previously was) and l left half

inch
outsite 9/10 are covered in the soil
I keep the soil moist and wet .. how long should it take

for new
buds eventually burst out ?

If MY experience is any guide . . . forever.

What kind of maple?

In MY experience with A. palmatum, it is never.

Others may have differing results.

Jim
thanks a lot for your feed back
I red that somewhere and never have done until now as usually were small roots .
I did on this one as perfect and huge and grafted on another one from the same
maple with its own twig it is under a plastic dome waiting to see what will
happens , I did one month ago with other roots from trident and waiting :-) will
make white hairs waiting :-)
I leave some low twig from the main trunk of the same maple grow and
will try to bent to make it rooten in the soil..

Thanks again
Theo
