Default [IBC] podocarpus bonsai - is it dead?

I have a gorgeous podocarpus bonsai n a hot location that was
very neglected
for a long time. I cut all the leaves off, and i am waiting

for new growth.
It has been almost a month. Is it hopeless?

Take a knife and cut into the bark on the trunk. If there's
bright green, there's hope.

'sustainable growth' is an oxymoron. - Stephen Viederman

Hi Greg,
From my experience, Podocarpus will not stand for total leaves cutting.
Yours might be died already.
