I just wanted any advice any of you
may have in your experiences with starting these from seed and why I may
loose some here and there after they germinate.

One of the biggest killers of seedlings is soil borne fungi of
different species that go by the common name, "damp off." They tend to thrive in
conditions of high moisture, low air circulation and low light.
For seedlings to do best you need to minimize the conditions that
encourage Damp Off.
I use vermiculite to start seeds, it is an inorganic mineral that
doesn't support the fungi.
Some growers use fans to increase air circulation over their seedling
beds.
You can also use distilled water and/or treated seed.
Seedlings should be given as much natural light as possible as soon as
possible.
