Default I know but this is different..goat ate bonsai

I know you had a troll with that subject line but this one is true. I keep my bonsai in winter in a cold frame/greenhouse and the wind blew open the door and my goatling had a field day. He just nibbled the buds off (my favorite Hornbeam too, wail!). Anyway, my question. What should I be doing for my trees? He just got the tips of the trees. Should I treat them in some fashion? I wouldn't have minded so much if he had done it in early spring but coming on winter...

I now know which are tasty!

Sounds like you got a free pruning job. Send the goat over to me when he's
finished working on your trees.

First, please set your mailer to send TEXT ONLY so we all don't
get that gibberish.

Second, Your goat did what you should do this time of year --
remove the end buds from the branches. Next year you should
have better ramification.

I would, however, take some sharp scissors and trim the tips to
eliminate any torn bark, etc.

Be careful what you wish for. He's a handful! LOL!

Thanks for the heads up on turning off the HTML. I don't know how it got
changed.

I'm glad then that the goat did it. Thanks for the advice on the trimming.
I managed to keep him out of them all summer but I don't even know how long
the door was open. He can't get in there now. This was a good year. The
cows got not one bite. lol
