I've had some swedes in the ground for a couple of months and they are doing quite nicely but I wondered how long should I leave them until I pull them out?

I would start pulling them as they get big enogh to eat. In your
climate they will probably hold until they bolt when daylenght
increases toward spring but you may as well enjoy them along the way.
