Default Question about pruning blueberries

Hi,
I just planted 6 blueberry plants. They are 3 yr old plants. Should I prune them this yr so they don't produce fruit - will that establish better root growth? I bought 3 different types and some look like they have little buds at the ends - should I cut these off?

Thanks!
