You know, people do seem to think that things like this are unsightly but I
think that they have a beauty. My wild rose tree is covered with hips, I can
see it from here, and it gives me a lot of pleasure. I also leave seedheads
on the globe thistle because of their form. We have no birds which feed on
them, sadly, but they're so lovely it's a shame to compost them.
