please identify this flower
Hi all,
I took this picture the other day in Miami, FL, and I'm trying to identify the flower. If anyone has any idea as to what it might be, please let me know! http://www.pbase.com/image/14400496 Thanks! |

Its the original single flowered form of Kerria japonica.

The shrub appears as if it's covered with yellow pompoms and is every bit as floriferous and hardy. I guess it's a matter of taste. John |

I can't find many pictures of the single Kerria but it appears to have many stamens, this flower has 5 http://www.biosurvey.ou.edu/okwild/kerria.html Good observation. Yes, Kerria does have many stamens; it is in the Rose Family (Rosaceae) Emilie |
