Can you root wisteria from a cutting? If so, how? THANKS! Steve Amazing you should ask... Just finished a trip that involved driving through most of Alabama (...where the Wisteria is in full bloom right now...) It is everywhere! Cut armloads of fresh blooms and placed them in a basket in the front of the van and enjoyed the scent for the entire drive through...but I digress... Back to propagation...Wisteria can be propagated from hardwood (...involves grafting...) softwood and layering. Something to remember is that Wisteria take many years to mature and bloom (...sometimes 12-15...) so this is not a plant to start from seed or a 1 or 2 year old plant...unless you just enjoy the (prolonged) anticipation... Cutting from an established source (old and blooming) is your best bet. Hope this helps Carla |
