Default Fertilizers Question

1. The nitrogen component will go into the air, if not leached into the
soil. 2. A concentrate like the typical lawn fertilizer will burn the
grass unlees diluted with water and wash into the root zone.

Default Fertilizers Question

To move the nutrients into the soil where the roots can absorb them and
to insure there is sufficient water so that the fertilizer doesn't
damage the plant.

Default Fertilizers Question

It is good, and labor-saving, and money-saving, practice to time your
fertilization when rain is in the forecast.

Watering in activates the fertilizer. Also, it helps prevent burning
the plant. I prefer to fertilize (especially a lawn) when the ground
is damp from a recent rain. When using organic fertilizers, burning
is much less of an issue.

when using an organic fertiliser like blood and bone you have to water it
in, or best apply just before some decent rain, to avoid feeding the family
dogs and cats.
