Default Transplanting Virginia creeper? ? ?

Last year I got a rooting of a Virginia creeper and started it in a pot.
Eventually the vine reached two or three feet before the leaves fell off --
presumably seasonal shedding.

Now I want to plant it in the yard beside a tree. When is the best time to
do this transplant?
