Unhappy advice on what to plant in windy area

Hi there. Can anyone recommend some attractive shrubs for a very windy area in the South West of Ireland. Ideally I'd love some autumn interest and I love berries that could increase our bird presence in the garden. Of course I'd welcome some pretty flowers too. I guess I just want it all.

The aspect that I have is sunny, the soil type is fairly average (stony, good drainage, not ericaceous I think, I have to introduce organic matter and nutients). Part of the bed is on a slope. The whole bed is hit by winds for 400 days of the year. I'm a bit discouranged and would appreciate some advice. Thanks
