Lessons learned about Raspberries
Last spring I planted 6 bare root raspberries and found out to late they
were planted to deep, all died. This year, planted 6 bare root and it looks like at least five will live. I had to replant some to get them doing better. Yesterday I replanted one and put the little white shoot out to the sunlight and today it has already grown and turned red. Today I replanted two and put they're white shoots out and I expect they will live. One that I thought was dead, but had planned to replant today has a good green shoot coming up. Of the six, one is thriving with two large green shoots. I just thought I'd share about planting to deep in case someone else has problems. I planted a Blueberry yesterday and plan to get some more. It wasn't bare root, and it grows different from how a Raspberry grows, so it will probably do better. Poppa |
