Default Peach question

We got peaches! Sweet huge peaches. On some of them, there is a clear hard
little blob on the outside of the skin. On dissection, the spot on the skin
and the clear blob are the only blemish, there is no tunnel on the inside.
There are quite a few with these clear blobs, about the size of a pea and
smaller. Any ideas what they are?

Steve

A small insect might have sampled the fruit without boring into it. The
tree might have received inconsistent watering, causing a small tear in
the skin. Some kind of mechanical injury occurred, such as twigs
hitting the fruit when the wind blows. In any case, some juice from the
fruit -- containing a significant amount of sugar -- leaked through the
skin and dried, allowing the sugar to crystalize.

Generally, these crystalized juices can be easily scraped away. If
there is no sign underneath that an insect entered the fruit, enjoy.
