Default Fall Roses

Hello group,

My mother-in-law bought some rose bushes from Canadian Tire 1 1/2 years ago.
They bloomed shortly after she planted them (mid-summer) and then again that
fall. They also bloomed last fall... beautifully, I might add! Large,
strongly scented white roses. It was late in the season to the point that
they ended up with frost on them in September which was quite stunning.
My question is.... what type of rose would bloom so late?
