Default Ensuring a Blue Hydrangea

My hydrangeas are getting ready to bloom. They've got the little
green flower heads already. Being partial to the look of blue
hydrangeas, when's the best time to add a little sulfer or acidic
fertilizer? Would now be a good time, or is it too late to ensure
blue flowers for this season?
