Default Bug ID

Saw a bug on a Cosmos a bit ago that is the size of a yellow jacket
bee, same coloring as a bumble bee, in fact if you saw it quickly
thats what you'd say it was, a BB. Tail is a bit longer and more
slender than a bee & comes to a sharp point (no stinger I could see)
and it has HUGE black round portruding eyes. Has wings etc. I've
never seen the like before. Any idea what it is - good - bad or
just a bugG?
