Default Question for Group

Is it ok to post eBay auctions in this newsgroup? I have past issues of
gardening (OG, National Gardening and such) magazines that my father had
in his basement that I need to liquidate. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest that the 'safest' way to include indirect information of
this kind is to include link to your homepage, which in turn might
contain a link to your ebay listings.
But to post each eBay listing here.. NO that would be downright silly.

This isn't a 'sales' group;-)

No!

That is what FORSALE groups are for... and even then they aren't
welcome because they are AUCTIONS.

If you want to use ebay, fine. If I'm interested, I'll go look on
eBay.

I would be posting a link to my sellers list page on eBay, since I don't
have a homepage. One link for all.

As it is somewhat on topic, I think it would be ok to post a link to an eBay
auction. Btw, good of you to ask. Most spammers, as you said before, dont.

No. Not *emphatically* no, but in general, no. Any mention of
something *you* are selling is considered spam. And if you say, "I saw
this interesting thing on eBay...," you will be identified and
scolded. Since you apparently picked rec.gardens and
rec.gardens.edible for your question, and have never had any other
action with either group, just list your stuff on eBay.

John,

Dont do it... i learned my lesson..

I would say just to read the topics, and stay on topic..and if you can help
someone or have a topic question, then stay on topic.

All i do know is read the topics and if i can help, i will answer them, but
by no means will i put in any other information.

I have been educated!

Danny
